📖 Introduction: Shared folders
Shared folders let you synchronise the contents of a folder between multiple Onlime users. All members have full access to add, edit, and delete files, and changes are automatically synced to everyone.

What are shared folders
A shared folder is a regular folder in Onlime Sync that you share with other users. When you share a folder, recipients get the folder in their own Onlime Sync, and all content stays automatically synchronised.
All members have full access – they can add, edit, and delete files.
Changes are automatically synced to all members.
Shared folders appear in Sync on Onlime.dk and in the Onlime Sync folder on your computer.
ℹ️ A folder must be in Sync on Onlime.dk before you can share it with others.
Share a folder on Onlime.dk
You can share a folder directly from your browser on Onlime.dk:
Log in to Onlime.dk ↗
Go to Sync in the menu.
Select the folder you want to share.
Click Share.
Enter the email address(es) of the people you want to share with.
Click Add members.
Recipients will receive an email with a link to accept the invitation. Once accepted, the folder appears in their own Onlime Sync.
✅ All changes to the folder will now be automatically synced to all members – both changes made on Onlime.dk and in Onlime Sync.
Share a folder on your computer
You can also share a folder directly from File Explorer (Windows) or Finder (Mac). Right-click the folder, go to the Onlime icon in the context menu, and select Share:
Right-click the folder you want to share.
In the context menu, hover over the Onlime icon and select Share.
Enter the recipients' email addresses in the Onlime window and click Share.
ℹ️ You can only share folders that are in Onlime Sync on your computer, or folders that have been added to backup in the Onlime program.

💡 Syncing shared folders
When you create a shared folder, all content from your shared folders is synced to Onlime Sync on your computer. You can also access shared folders via Onlime.dk ↗.
🔗 Stop sharing
If you remove a person from a shared folder, they lose access. They will no longer be able to see or sync the content. If you want to delete the shared folder entirely, you must remove all members and then delete the folder.
👥 How many people can participate
There is no fixed limit on how many users you can share a folder with. You can invite as many Onlime users as you need.
