The new Onlime app for Windows is a complete rebuild with improved speed, simplicity, and a refreshed design. Follow the steps below to install it.

Open the installer file and click Install to begin.

The installation will download and install the required components. This may take a few minutes.

Once the installation is complete, the setup wizard opens. Click Get started to begin.

Sign in with the account you <a href="https://onlime.dk/tilmeld/" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">created on Onlime.dk ↗</a>.

Select the folders you want to back up automatically. For example, Pictures, Desktop, and Documents. You can change this later and <a href="https://support.onlime.dk/da/articles/5775258">add more folders ↗</a>.

Choose whether to enable <a href="https://support.onlime.dk/da/articles/14668206">Onlime Sync ↗</a>. This can also be done later from Settings.

Once you have completed the setup, Onlime is ready to use. <a href="https://support.onlime.dk/da/articles/14367316">Open the Onlime menu on Windows ↗</a>.

If you prefer the classic Onlime app, you can install that version as well. Follow the steps below.

Open the installer file in the Downloads folder. Follow the installation wizard to complete the installation.

Once the installation is complete, open Onlime and follow the setup wizard:

Select which folders you want to back up. Onlime automatically suggests Pictures, Desktop, and Documents.

Choose whether to enable or disable <a href="https://support.onlime.dk/da/articles/5775250">Onlime Sync ↗</a>.

Difference between the new and classic app

The new Onlime app (2026) is a complete rebuild with improved speed, a modern design, and better system integration. The classic app continues to work but no longer receives new features.
