Two-factor authentication provides an extra layer of security when you log on to Onlime both on the web interface and in our apps.
When two-factor authentication is activated, you must also confirm login with a one-time code, which you receive from an authentication app, SMS or e-mail. An authentication app can be a password manager such as 1Password.
Two-factor authentication means that if someone steals your regular login information, they will not be able to break into your account.
The benefit is clear - your account is better protected.
The downside is that it takes a few extra seconds for you to log in, as you have to enter your e-mail and password and also a one-time code, which you receive from an authentication app, SMS or e-mail.
It is optional to use two-factor authentication - but we strongly encourage you to use it.
How to activate two-factor authentication (2FA)
Activating two-factor authentication is quick and easy.
Log on to Onlime.dk
Go to the following page: Set up two-factor authentication
Select Add Two-Factor
From the top menu, you can select setup with an authentication app, SMS or e-mail
Setup with an authentication app
You can select this option if you are already using an authentication app - e.g. a password manager. If you do not use a password manager, we recommend using 1Password.
Scan the QR code with your password manager or enter the highlighted key where you usually set up two-factor authentication.
You will now receive a 6-digit one-time code in your authentication app, which you must enter in the One-time code field to confirm the setup.
Click Enable
If this is the first time you are setting up two-factor authentication, you will now see an overview with 10 recovery codes.
It is very important that you save these 10 recovery codes, as they are your only option to restore access to the account if you lose the authentication app!
Copy and paste them into a text file on your computer or simply write them down on a piece of paper.
Now you have completed the setup and saved your 10 recovery codes. Next time you log in, you will be asked for a 6-digit one-time code, which you will receive in your authentication app.
You can set up multiple authentication methods if you wish.
Setup with SMS
Select this setup if you want to receive a one-time code via SMS every time you log in to Onlime.
Enter the phone number that you want to use to receive one-time codes. Remember to start with your country code e.g. +45.
Click the Send a one-time code button
Enter the one-time code from the SMS you receive in the One-time code field
Click Enable

How does two-factor authentication work?
Once you have activated two-factor authentication, you will be asked for a 6-digit one-digit one-time code when you log in. You will receive the one-time code from an authentication app, SMS or e-mail.
You will receive the 6-digit one-time code after you have entered your e-mail and password.
If you cannot receive one-time codes
There is a risk that you may lose the ability to use two-factor authentication after activating the feature. It can e.g. be if you lose access to your password manager and at the same time have lost the 10 recovery codes that were created during setup.
In that situation, you will need to reset two-factor authentication to your account.
This can only be done in writing and by sending image documentation to customer service.
