📣 News: New Onlime app for Windows and Mac (2026)
We are proud to present our new and improved desktop app. All your favorite features have been preserved, but we have made significant upgrades behind the scenes to make the app more stable, secure, fast, and intuitive.

The update includes a completely redesigned look and user experience.
Navigation has been consolidated into a single window, giving you access to Backup, Sync, and Archive.
The new sync engine introduces selective sync to save storage space.
What's new?
✨ New look and user experience
At first glance, you will experience the new home page. This view gives you a clear overview of your Backup and its current status.
The left menu gives you direct access to Backup, Sync, and Archive in one place. Your profile icon provides convenient options such as opening your Settings, pausing or resuming your backup, as well as access to the help center.
📁 Selective sync folder
The Onlime application now offers a completely rebuilt sync folder with selective sync. This means you can choose exactly which folders you want to sync with the cloud, freeing up valuable space on your local hard drive.
🏞️ Photos and albums
You can now access your personal timeline with photos and videos uploaded to your Onlime account, along with your albums and locations! Previously, you've had to go to our web app to see your photos, but now you can quickly and naturally access them with ease, and have the same experience on your mobile device and desktop computers.
⚡ Performance and speed
The application is much more responsive and is written in a newer, faster programming language. It delivers faster backups while maintaining the foundation of the old application: a secure, reliable, and stable cloud service.
📦 Access to Archive
Our new application gives you direct access to the Archive feature. This allows you to quickly upload and download files directly to and from your Archive without having to open the web app.
🍏 macOS Finder extension
Our latest desktop application includes a powerful macOS Finder extension that improves the integration between Onlime and your Mac. The Finder extension adds a shortcut to the sync folder directly in Finder, making it easier to access and manage your synced files. In addition, the extension provides convenient options in the right-click menu, allowing you to perform various actions on your files.

☁️ Automatic update provides a seamless transition
The update to the new desktop application is completely seamless when you update the old Onlime app by confirming the notification about a new available update. Your existing Backup and Sync configurations will be transferred automatically, ensuring your data remains protected without interruption.
ℹ️ If you manually install the new Onlime app
If you install the new Onlime application by downloading it from the Onlime website, your Backup and Sync configurations will not be transferred automatically. In this case, we recommend that you uninstall the old Onlime application, install the new one, and manually re-add folders for backup or set up sync if desired.
