When opening Photos in the Onlime app, you can see all the photos that you have in the cloud with Onlime along with those that you have locally on your device. They are all sorted by time.

Onlime can automatically back up photos and videos from your Android smartphone in full size.

To use the Onlime app for iOS/Android to back up your photos and videos, we need general access to them. Even if you want to back up individual photos and videos, we require permission to access all your photos/videos on your mobile device so that we can display them in the Onlime app, from where you can back them up to Onlime.

We only process and store the files you explicitly choose when you activate backup or otherwise transfer files til Onlime via our apps.

How to enable automatic backup on Android

You need to enable automatic backup of photos and videos to get started.

  1. Open Onlime

  2. Go to Settings

  3. Select Photos and videos

  4. Turn on Automatic photo backup

Eventually, you can decide whether automatic upload should be allowed over cellular (3G/4G/5G).

The first backup

The first time you upload your photos and videos to the cloud, it may take a long time.

Depending on your internet connection and the number of photos and videos, you need to arm yourself with more or less patience for the first backup.

In order for the first backup to go as quickly and easily as possible, we recommend:

  1. Connect your Android to the charger so that the battery does not run out

  2. Connect to a WIFI

  3. Open Onlime and enable automatic backup

  4. Make sure the screen does not go out by itself (check your phone's settings)

  5. Leave the Onlime app open so it can upload without interruption

You can follow how far the upload has come at the bottom of the app screen.
