This is also a way of forcing a reboot of a program.

Windows

  1. Open Task Manager on Windows by either searching for Task List in the Start menu or right-clicking on the toolbar and selecting Task List

  2. Select the Programs / Processes tab

  3. Select the program that you want to close

  4. Select End Job

Then you can open the program again.

Mac

  1. Open Activity Monitor by searching for it on your Mac. Activity monitoring can also be found in Programs - Utilities

  2. Find the Process Name that you want to close. The process name is usually identical to the program you want to close.

  3. Click Stop

Then you can open the program again.
